Talk Show Guest 3 - John 4:10-48

Host: And we are back, for those of you just joining us - you probably recognize our guest, a well-know religious leader. Before we go on, can I offer you anything? A drink? Some water?

Guest: No but thanks. But you raise an interesting point. Jhn 4:10

Host: I do? Thank you!

Guest: About water. And understanding the gifts of God. Jhn 4:10

Host: I don't understand.

Guest: If you understood me, you would ask and I could give you the water of life. Jhn 4:10

Host: Living water? Sounds like something from a horror movie. What is wrong with plain, ordinary water?

Guest: Nothing wrong with it, it is just that when we drink plain water, we just get thirsty again. Jhn 4:13

Host: But the water you offer is different?

Guest: When we drink the water of life, we lose a thirst we always feel, but don't understand. And we lose it forever. This living water. becomes a fountain welling up within us. Welling up into the life after our lives. Jhn 4:14

Host: Are we talking about water here, or drinking the cool aid? Sorry about that, but mysticism make me cranky. So, tell me, why can't people worship your God in nature, Say chanting on some mountain top, rather than bowing down in a church of one faith or another?

Guest: Trust me, this is a time when you won't have to bow down to worship the Father. Neither on a mountain top or in a church. Jhn 4:21

Host: Bowing down is no longer fashionable then? That's good. I really don't care for bowing.

Guest:On the contrary, you are bowing down now. Bowing to gods you even don't recognize. Jhn 4:22

Host: If modern people have any god, it is science.

Guest:And modern science says most of its universe is unknown. Black holes. Dark matter. Dark energy. Jhn 4:23

Host: How are religious people different? Spirits, angels, heaven?

Guest:We bow down to what we know, God and that happiness the traditions of the patriarchs. Jhn 4:23

Host: But wait! You just said people won't worship God in church anymore.

Guest: Right! This is the time when real worshipers will worship the Father in our spirits, our awareness, addressing Him with our inner voices. Jhn 4:24

Host: The ultimate invasion of privacy! God listening to every thought!

Guest: Or God in our every thought? The Father is seeking. Seeking out just this sort of worshipers. Jhn 4:24

Host: Doesn't God know everything? Why does he need to seek?

Guest:He seeks our choice to be found. God is,spirit, the infinite awareness. Because he is aware, we must consciously choose him. We must choose him honestly. Awareness is hard. However, as a talk show host knows, truth is even harder. Jhn 4:24

Host: Awareness of the truth about people? Really? Seems more like God should send someone to save people from themselves!

Guest: Right! Your speaking to him! Jhn 4:26

Host: Stepped right into that one! =" background-color: white;">So, what does a savior eat while drinking his living water?

Guest: My food is a brand you've never seen. Jhn 4:32

Host: Living on a special diet?

Guest: Ahhh, I live on a diet of giving pleasure! Jhn 4:34

Host: Pleasure to whom?

Guest: To the one who sent me. As I am going to finish his work. Jhn 4:34

Host: By "finish," I'm hoping you aren't planning the end of the world any time soon.

Guest: Can you say that there is still lots of time before the harvest starts? Look around. Open your eyes! These fields are golden, ripe for a harvest. Jhn 4:35

Host: Aren't religious leaders always claiming that the end of the world is coming and aren't they always wrong?

Guest: Ohhh, this harvest is happening now. The reaper is earning. his. wages. Jhn 4:36

Host: Are you so happy about the work of the grim reaper?

Guest: He is gathering what we have made for the life after our lives. A celebration. For those who planted and those who reap. Jhn 4:36

Host: Sounds very socialist, the farm workers sharing the crop.

Guest: It is true the in this, some plant and others harvest. Jhn 4:37

Host: Can't I just join in the celebration part?

Guest: I could send you off to harvest what you haven't worked for but others have. But then, you'd have to join in doing the work. Jhn 4:38

Host: Well, I guess I can't expect miracles. Oh. Wait. Can I?

Guest: Your wife? The government? The dollar? Can you trust anything without seeing miracles? Jhn 4:48

Host: Well, it's time for another break. When we get back, we'll ask our savior here about the end of the world. Stay tuned!
