This verse illustrates a repeated problem in Greek translation: translating the Greek preposiiton meaning "from" or "out of" as "of." Here we see this in the phrase, "one of you." It really says, one from among you. Why is this important? Because Jesus always uses this preposition for a purpose. The word has a number of different meanings based upon its context, but it indicates separation "from" something rather than being a part "of" it like "of" does. Jesus was intentionally using it to do that here. Not translating it accurately show and indifference to the small distinction he makes in speaking precisely. See how clearly he makes this point, using the preposition in John 15:19 , which is mistranslated in a similar way.
The verb translated as "betray" has less of a sense of "betray," than giving someone over is similar to turning someone in. Jesus uses this word a lot to describe the treatment of his followers, starting with the Sending of the Apostles that begins at Matthew 10:5.
