LOST IN TRANSLATION

This verse is clearly light-hearted. The second sentence about "troubling" or "bothering" her is phrased as the humorous exaggeration of  "handed over a beating to her." The verb, "hand over," is usually used both positively in the sense of giving.

The last sentence is also a play on words. The Greek word translated as "work" is the root word of the verb that is translated as "wrought" and "done." "Work The same word is the subject of the verb because the verb is passive. The sense is "a work is worked on me."
