Peace to you all!

GREEK (Each Word Explained Bottom of Page)
LOST IN TRANSLATION

This is what Jesus says when he first appears to his apostles as a group. Simple two word verse, a noun and a pronoun. This is not a sentence, but a verbal expression of a feeling.

"Peace" is the Greek term that means harmony between individuals and nations" and the general idea of safety, security, and prosperity. It is the opposite of the state of war. In Hebrew, the word for peace was used in salutations and as an inquiry as to one's health. Jesus uses the word more broadly, in the sense of harmony and happiness with one's surroundings and what is happening.

The Greek pronoun "unto you" here is plural and in the form of an indirect object, "to you", "for you", etc.
