This list shows a literal translation of each verse of Christ's words.

John 14:29 And now I have told you before it comes to pass,

John 14:29 καὶ νῦν εἴρηκα ὑμῖν πρὶν γενέσθαι, ἵνα ὅταν γένηται πιστεύσητε.
Literal Verse:
And now, I have told you before happening so that. when it happens, you will trust.
John 14:30 Hereafter I will not talk much with you:

John 14:30 οὐκέτι πολλὰ λαλήσω μεθ᾽ ὑμῶν, ἔρχεται γὰρ ὁ τοῦ κόσμου ἄρχων: καὶ ἐν ἐμοὶ οὐκ ἔχει οὐδέν,
Literal Verse:
Not longer should I chat with you because he is showing up, the one of the world, a leader, and he doesn't have anything on me.
John 14:31 But that the world may know that I love the Father;

Literal Verse:
Instead, in order that this society might learn because I care about the Father, just as the Father commands me, this is what I do. Wake up! we should carry on from here!
John 15:1 I am the true vine,

John 15:1 Ἐγώ εἰμι ἡ ἄμπελος ἡ ἀληθινή, καὶ ὁ πατήρ μου ὁ γεωργός ἐστιν:
Literal Verse:
I myself am the vine, the true one, and that Father of mine is the vine-dresser.
John 15:2 Every branch in me that bears not fruit he takes away

John 15:2 πᾶν κλῆμα ἐν ἐμοὶ μὴ φέρον καρπὸν αἴρει αὐτό, καὶ πᾶν τὸ καρπὸν φέρον καθαίρει αὐτὸ ἵνα καρπὸν πλείονα φέρῃ.
Literal Verse:
All vine branches in me not wanting to bear fruit, he removes it, and everyone bearing this fruit, he cleans it so that it might bear more fruit.
John 15:3 Now you are clean through the word

Literal Verse:
By this time, you are cleaned because of the logic that I have relayed to you.
John 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you.

Literal Verse:
Stay in me, and I in you. Just as the branch doesn't have the power to bear fruit by itself unless it stays in the vine. In this way, neither do you, unless you stay in me.
John 15:5 I am the vine,

John 15:5 [ἐγώ εἰμι ἡ ἄμπελος, ὑμεῖς τὰ κλήματα.] ὁ μένων ἐν ἐμοὶ κἀγὼ ἐν αὐτῷ οὗτος φέρει καρπὸν πολύν, ὅτι χωρὶς ἐμοῦ οὐ δύνασθε ποιεῖν οὐδέν.
Literal Verse:

John 15:7 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you,

John 15:9 As the Father has loved me,

Even as the Father cares for me, also I care for you. Remain in this care, this mine own.
John 15:10 If you keep my commandments,

Literal Verse:

John 15:12 this is my commandment,

John 15:16 You have not chosen me,

These things I command you that you should care for one another.
John 15:18 If the world hate you,

John 15:20 Remember the word that I said unto you,

Literal Verse:
Remember the logic that I myself told you: No slave is greater than that master of his. Since they hounded me, also they will hound you. Since they have taken care of this logic of mine, also they will take care of those of your group.
John 15:21 But all these things will they do unto you

John 15:22 If I had not come and spoken unto them,

If I didn't show up and communicate with them, they don't have a fault. Now, however, they don't have an excuse in regards to this fault of theirs.
John 15:23 He that hates me hates

The one hating me also hates that Father of mine.
John 15:24 If I had not done among them

Literal Verse:
When that one there, shows up then the spirit of the truth will guide you towards the whole truth. Because he will not relay out of himself. Instead, as much as he hears he will relay, and he will transmit to you the things starting .
John 16:14 He shall glorify me:

That one there will recognize me because he will get for himself from this my own and he will transmit to you.
John 16:15 All things that the Father has are mine:

John 16:16 A little while, and you shall not see me:

John 16:21 A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow,

Literal Verse:
The woman, when she gives birth has pain because that time hers has shown up. When, however, she has born a child, no longer does she remember the pressure in the midst of the joy because a person is born into the world.
John 16:22 And you now therefore have sorrow:

John 16:22 καὶ ὑμεῖς οὖν νῦν μὲν λύπην ἔχετε: πάλιν δὲ ὄψομαι ὑμᾶς, “καὶ χαρήσεται ὑμῶν ἡ καρδία,” καὶ τὴν χαρὰν ὑμῶν οὐδεὶς ἀρεῖ ἀφ᾽ ὑμῶν.
Literal Verse:
Also you yourselves, in fact, now, on one hand, have pain. On the other hand, I will behold you with my own eyes again and that heart of yours will rejoice and no one will lift your joy away from you.
John 16:23 And in that day you shall ask me nothing.

John 16:27 αὐτὸς γὰρ ὁ πατὴρ φιλεῖ ὑμᾶς, ὅτι ὑμεῖς ἐμὲ πεφιλήκατε καὶ πεπιστεύκατε ὅτι ἐγὼ παρὰ: τοῦ πατρὸς ἐξῆλθον.
Literal Verse:
Since the Father himself enjoys you because you yourselves have enjoyed me and have trusted because I myself started out from the Father.
John 16:28 I came forth from the Father,
Greek :
John 16:28 ἐξῆλθον ἐκ τοῦ πατρὸς καὶ ἐλήλυθα εἰς τὸν κόσμον: πάλιν ἀφίημι τὸν κόσμον καὶ πορεύομαι πρὸς τὸν πατέρα.
Literal Verse:
I came out from the Father, and I have shown up into this society. In turn, I leave this society and proceed before the Father.
John 16:31 Do you now believe?
Greek :
John 16:31 Ἄρτι πιστεύετε;
Literal Verse:
Just now, you trust? or "Right now, you trust..."
John 16:32 Behold, the hour comes,
Greek :
John 16:32 ἰδοὺ ἔρχεται ὥρα καὶ ἐλήλυθεν ἵνα σκορπισθῆτε ἕκαστος εἰς τὰ ἴδια κἀμὲ μόνον ἀφῆτε: καὶ οὐκ εἰμὶ μόνος, ὅτι ὁ πατὴρ μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ ἐστίν.
Literal Verse:
Look! An hour starts and has started when you may be dispersed, each towards those one's own. And you may leave me alone, and not I am alone because the Father is along with me.
John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you
Greek :
John 16:33 ταῦτα λελάληκα ὑμῖν ἵνα ἐν ἐμοὶ εἰρήνην ἔχητε: ἐν τῷ κόσμῳ θλίψιν ἔχετε, ἀλλὰ θαρσεῖτε, ἐγὼ νενίκηκα τὸν κόσμον.
Literal Verse:
These things I have relayed to you in order that you might have peace within me. You have pressure within this society. Instead, be brave. I myself have conquered this society.
John 17:1 Father, the hour is come;
Greek :
John 17:1 Πάτερ, ἐλήλυθεν ἡ ὥρα:
John 17:2 δόξασόν σου τὸν υἱόν, ἵνα ὁ υἱὸς δοξάσῃ σέ
Literal Verse:
Father, it has started, this hour. Recognize yours, this Son, so that this Son might recognize You.
